Last year Mrs. Carter's writing class started the tradition of writing essays to their favorite staff members at Burdine in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week. Here's some outtakes of students delivering letters. Mrs. Carter provides the sweet treats and the students give the staff member their essay!

Next Tuesday is the last Pick and Bow session @ Burdine. It is after-school until 4:30. Burdine students will showcase at Cowan Community Center on May 15th. Come out and listen to our students perform!

Middle School Cheer Open Gym

It's Game On Cavs!! We are ready for the KSA! We kicked off testing week with Pie the Principal! 87 students scored a proficient or distinguished on the last MAP test in grades K-5! Great work Cavs! Testing starts tomorrow for third and fifth grade. Don't stress-come to school on time and relaxed in your pajamas, but be ready to Level Up to Proficiency!

K-2 Students are just now in Wise. They ran into rainstorms and needed another bathroom break, so they are behind.




K-2 students are leaving the rest area and headed back to Burdine. Expected arrival time is 7:00 p.m.









K-2 students are having a blast! They are a little ahead of schedule and will be leaving the trampoline park at 3:30.

Derby Day with Second Grade in Gear Up Class!

Burdine Families don't forget to come out tonight! Crafts, Food, and Family Fun! Grades 3-5 can pick up midterms! Families can also check out our new library. If you still need to register for kindergarten or sign up for preschool come see us this evening from 4-5:30 @ Burdine School.

Spring Career Fair @ Burdine was this week! Our students in grades 3-5 had a great time learning about different future career options. Thanks to all the local businesses that supported this event. And big thanks to our grant partners-Gear Up, Letcher Promise Neighborhood, and Full Service Community Schools for providing students with this opportunity.

This week's Positive Office Referrals so far are Alissa Walker, Chevy Knapp, and Lydia Mullins! Alissa is an extremely hard worker and is always willing to put in the extra work to get a better grade.
Chevy has been working very hard in the classroom and gave Ms. Catrina a helping hand this week. This is Lydia's third time winning a Positive Office Referral! She is the epitome of a Cavalier-Caring Attitude, Always Ready, Very Responsible, and always Shows Respect!
