Don't forget tonight is STEM Family Night at Burdine from 4-6! The first 50 families get a FREE STEM Kit! We will also be registering students for kindergarten and taking applications for kindergarten.

Preschool and Kindergarten Graduation

K-2 students have had a wonderful day on their field trip to Knoxville Zoo. They have not left TN yet they are having dinner. They will be returning to school later than planned. All calls will be made as they get closer to school.

Last week students in Mrs. Gibson's second grade class practiced their reading skills by participating in Reader's Theatre. They had a blast reading a script!

5th Grade has had a great time on their end of year reward trip to Dollywood!

We would like to thank Gear Up and our CCN, Mrs. Rains for planning a trip to the Prestonsburg Science Center for students in grades 1st-5th. They had a wonderful time learning about science!

Robbie Collins won two Positive Office Referrals this week! Way to go Robbie! Keep up the good work!

Jalyssa Wigington won a Positive Office Referral this week for working hard in the classroom!

Chromebook Return! ALL Home Chromebooks and chargers need to be returned to school. The goal is to collect them all by Friday, May 10th! Many students have already returned these. Please send those in, so we can inventory, and update them for home use next school year.

Mr. Boggs, Principal and Mrs. Mandy Wynn, Student Success Navigator presented the Jenkins Middle School Student of the Month Awards for April to Reyna Lopez and Makaya Hall. Congratulations!

Yesterday students in Mrs. Carter's 4th Grade Writing Class wrote a recipe and shared some delicious cupcakes with staff for Teacher Appreciation Day! Checkout their recipe! Whipped Icing Recipe By: Mrs. Carter’s 4th Graders Ingredients *Heavy Whipping Cream *Powdered Sugar *Pudding Mix First, gather all of your ingredients. Second, add 2 cups of heavy whip[ping cream to a bowl. Using a hand mixer, mix on high for 2 minutes. Third, add ¼ c of powdered sugar and continue to mix. Last, add a package of pudding mix, any flavor of your choice. Mix until it is all incorporated. Be sure not to over mix, it will turn into butter!

Jenkins Independent School District is pleased to announce free meals will be provided to children during the summer break. These meals are open to anyone age 18 and under. There will be a daily congregate site at Jenkins Middle High School and a weekly non-congregate meal pickup site at Burdine Elementary. Jenkins Middle High School: Monday - Friday May 20 - June 14, 2024 (No meal service on Memorial Day, May 27th) Meal service times: Breakfast 8:30 - 10:00 Lunch 11:00 - 12:30 Meal must be eaten on site. No income requirements and no registration requirements. Burdine Elementary School Bulk Pickup: Monday May 20, 2024 11:00 - 3:00 Fridays, May 24 - June 28, 2024 11:00 - 3:00 After June, Friday bulk meal pickup will be at Jenkins Middle High Campus. Friday Bulk Meals will consist of seven breafasts and seven lunches. There are no income requirements, however, parents/guardians must fill out a request for meals pickup form. Friday Preschool took a trip to the Rec Center and to Dairy Queen to celebrate the end of a great year! Our youngest Cavaliers had a wonderful day! Thanks Ms. Amber and Ms. Erica for being the best preschool team.
